One Noodle Short

Last night, I was making lasagna and I ended up being one noodle short. I baked the lasagna as it was, with one noodle missing and one third of it being rather open-faced, but it occurred to me that being "one noodle short" was a good way to describe my cooking--hell, my life--lately, as I've been trying to manage everyday tasks with limited time and fewer free appendages than ever.
